Initially, Brendan Keogh (Head Coach) and Melanie Jenkins (Section Manager) were approved and now Graeme Carroll, Jackie Barck, Amanda Isaac, Mel Tantrum and Jon Shaw have been appointed to the coaching staff. Congratulations to all these appointed team members. Vale Swimming Australia has been very saddened to learn of the passing of Graham Sampson. Graham was a loyal employee of Swimming SA. He served in the development area and rose to the position of General Manager. Graham was a very passionate swimming person and strongly fought for the rights of South Australian swimmers and coaches. Graham was a very popular contributor to state executive officer meetings and will be missed by those who worked with him. Swimming Australia's sympathy goes to Graham's family and friends. FINA Accreditation At its meeting in Manchester, the FINA Bureau approved a new list a technical officials for its events over the period 20092012. Swimming Australia nominated three referees and two starters for this new list. FINA has confirmed that Ryan Arblaster, Judith and Janice Smith have been accredited as referees. Ian Arblaster and Dorothy Harris have been confirmed as FINA starters. Congratulations to these hard working officials on their appointments. Again we have a vast array of coaching experience at International, National and State level. This years presenters will have a Beijing feel with Australian Head Coach Alan Thompson presenting Beijing Bound just 2 weeks before heading off to the Olympics. Other national team coaches include Ian Pope and Rohan Taylor. Join the experienced list of presenters that have assembled for this years conference Teaching Stream This year's component of the conference combines all aspects of "Learn to Swim" from infants and Babies to Advanced learn to swim. Again the content covers all aspects of learn to swim from experts in all areas. The practical sessions will be conducted at either the competition pool and /or hydrotherapy pool which is part of the health and wellness area of MSAC. Learn from a group of experienced presenters that all have a passion to teach swimming and pass their knowledge on.
